Malta’s women’s national football team ended their UEFA Nations League campaign with a 0-0 draw against Andorra at the Estadi Nacional d’Encamp on Tuesday.

Having already secured promotion to League B the previous week, coach Manuela Tesse used the final match to experiment with the squad, giving several players a chance to impress.

Despite the rotation and changes, neither side was able to break the deadlock in a match marked by few clear scoring opportunities.

Malta finishes their Group C2 campaign with an impressive record of four wins, one draw, and one defeat, topping the group with 13 points.

On the 31st of May, Birżebbuġa Enemed ASC organised a record-breaking 27-hour charity swim marathon, setting a new national milestone for the longest continuous swimming event held in a water polo club pool. The achievement was officially recognised by The Malta Records.

The marathon, which ran from 9am on Friday to noon on Saturday, saw 52 young swimmers, aged between 8 and 19, participate in the endurance challenge all members of the Birżebbuġa ASC club.

Swimming not only for sport but also for a cause, the event successfully raised funds for Caritas Malta, combining athletic dedication with community support.

British actress Helena Bonham Carter was recently spotted at Popeye’s Village, one of Malta’s most iconic film sets and tourist attractions.

Bonham Carter is currently in Malta for the filming of ‘Enola Holmes 3’, the much-anticipated sequel to the hit Netflix mystery series.

Just last April, it was revealed that Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill would also be returning to the islands to reprise their roles in the third installment of the franchise. In fact, Millie Bobby Brown was also seen soaking up the sun in Malta as recently as yesterday.

A courtesy visit by Ħamrun Spartans’ administration to Prime Minister Robert Abela and Opposition Leader Bernard Grech marked the club’s recent league success, following their 1-0 victory over Birkirkara in the tightly contested Finalissima of the first-ever 360Sports Malta Premier.

The win on Saturday, 10th May, sealed Ħamrun’s 11th league title—and their third in a row—cementing their dominance in Maltese football.

Prime Minister Abela welcomed the club at the Auberge de Castille, saying: “It was a pleasure to welcome the administration of Ħamrun Spartans. Congratulations once again to them on winning the league.”

Opposition Leader Bernard Grech also applauded the team, noting: “Sport strengthens a person not only physically, but also mentally. I congratulated the officials, players, and coaches of Ħamrun Spartans for their outstanding achievement.”
