Local Hikes Entire Circumference Of Malta: 136km In 5 Days

Local Danyl Azzopardi has managed to hike the entire circumference of Malta in 5 days, after having attempted the massive feat two years in a row before.

For two years in a row, I tried and failed. But I did it at last! I hiked 136 km over the course of five days and four nights, always staying near the coast, to ensure I had covered the entire circumference of our stunning island, Malta! 🇲🇹#malta

That means 136km of walking, with Danyl sticking to the coast of the island to make sure he covered all the terrain!

He documented his journey on social media, virtually taking followers with him on the challenge.

Man Arrested After Assaulting Officers In Sliema Police Station

A 39 year old Maltese man is being kept under arrest after reportedly assaulting police at the Sliema station.

The incident took place when police were talking with a relative of the person in regards to dangerous driving.

The 39 year old entered the police station and started to raise his voice and banging on the perspex.

Despite warnings to calm down, the man reportedly became more aggressive with the officers.

Ignoring orders, the man pushed an officer into a wall and became aggressive. He began to resist arrest, with an officer suffering grievous injuries and breaking his arm. Two other officers suffered light injuries.

The man is being kept under arrest and is expected to be taken to court. An inquiry has been opened.
