Haley Bugeja doubled Malta’s lead from the penalty spot after being fouled, scoring her 23rd international goal.

Georgia pushed back, and Mariam Kalandadze pulled one back in the dying minutes after a string of missed chances, including Tatiana Matveeva hitting the post.

Despite late pressure, Malta held firm to secure three vital points. With games against Cyprus and Andorra remaining, promotion is still within reach for the determined Maltese side.

Well done to all!

Miriana Conte Unveils Striking “Singing” Version of Eurovision Track SERVING

Miriana Conte Unveils Striking “Singing” Version of Eurovision Track SERVING
Apr 8 2025 Share

Maltese performer Miriana Conte has released a powerful new rendition of her Eurovision entry SERVING, spotlighting the track’s original Maltese roots and its core concept: the joy and strength of pure singing.

This freshly arranged version, aptly named the “Singing” version, was recorded live at the Museum of Archaeology in Valletta. Featuring a powerhouse ensemble of vocalists alongside live trombone and saxophone, the performance brings a raw, emotional edge to the song.

“By revisiting the track’s beginnings, I wanted to bring out the pure singing side of SERVING,” said Miriana. “Collaborating with these remarkable musicians has been a joy, and I hope fans feel our energy in every note.”

With its stripped-back focus on vocal harmonies and live instrumentation, the new version highlights the song’s versatility and Miriana’s artistic evolution. It also reflects her deep appreciation for the team behind the track — Benjamin “BNJI” Schmid, Muxu, Sarah Evelyn Fullerton, and herself — and the expert production by Peter Borg and Aleandro Spiteri Monsigneur at Railway Studios.

The arrangement was led by Aleandro, with Muxu crafting the background vocal direction and Peter Borg on mix and mastering duties. The vibrant ensemble included trombonist Matthew Chappell, saxophonist Tristan Oa, and a stellar vocal group featuring Ryan Hili, Stefan Galea, Kyle George, Anna Azzopardi, Dre Curmi, Anthea, Maxine Borg, Victoria, Timea Farr, Martina Borg, MATT BLXCK, WAYNE, and Kelsie Borg.

Filmed in the heart of Valletta’s cultural heritage, this performance breathes new life into SERVING, proving that great songs can evolve while still honouring where they began.
