Eve Borg Bonello Tributes Daphne Caruana Galizia Following Charge Against Joseph Muscat

Nationalist MP and youngest Maltese MP in history Eve Borg Bonello stuck a picture of Daphne Caruana Galizia to the back of her laptop with the words “kellha raġun” (she was right) in front of all of Malta and it’s Parliament.

The act was clearly in response to the breaking news that former Prime Minister Jospeh Muscat, Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi have all been criminally charged in court.

It was the assassinated journalist who first revealed the criminal intentions of Muscat and many others in relation to the transfer of three state hospitals to Vitals Global Healthcare.

Years later those she accused have been criminally charged after an official concluded magisterial inquiry which Jospeh Muscat described as a “political vendetta”.

Joseph Muscat Responds To Criminal Charge Filed Against Him And Others

On his Facebook account former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has just responded to the breaking news released that him, Keith Schembri, Konrad Mizzi and many others have been accused and will be charged with a number of criminal court accusations.

Joseph Muscat stated that he has been told by many lawyers that for the first time ever, “there will be a lot of people accused of criminal activity without the possibility to defend themselves.” He continued on to state that this charge was “not merely a case of political vendetta but a manifestation of corruption and abuse, where the lives of countless individuals are being ruined by bureaucratic malpractice for the convenience of a few. ”

Now since the attorney general has officially filed criminal charges in court, the criminal fate of Muscat and others will depend on the judiciary process and police investigation. According to TVM News, lawyers from the Attorney General’s Office presented three subpoenas.

According to sources who spoke to multiple news platforms the police have issued criminal charges against 19 individuals in connection to the Vitals Global Healthcare inquiry.

On another note, according to netnews.com.mt Joseph Muscat was issued with a freezing order of €30 million and that he will be charged with fraud, money laundering and corruption.

This is a developing story and more details are expected to come out in the coming hours and days.

THERE WERE 3,811 TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS IN FIRST 3 MONTHS OF 2024

During the first quarter of 2024, road traffic accidents in Malta saw a decrease compared to the same period in 2023. Fatalities totalled one, marking a slight improvement.

Reported accidents numbered 3,811, down by 0.3% from the previous year, with the Northern Harbour district accounting for the highest number. Road traffic casualties also decreased by 8.2% to 337, with 81 grievously injured individuals, predominantly males. The fatality involved a male pedestrian.

Passenger cars were involved in the majority of casualties, followed by motorcycles and goods-carrying vehicles. Notably, accidents between vehicles contributed to 65.3% of all casualties. Sundays witnessed the highest number of casualties, while Thursdays saw the highest number of accidents.

The time bracket with the most accidents was between 12:00 and 14:59. Ħal Qormi recorded the highest incidence of accidents, followed by Birkirkara and San Pawl Il-Baħar.

Interestingly, some regions, such as Ta’ Sannat and San Lawrenz, reported minimal accidents, while the Western district observed the highest increase in accidents, contrasting with decreases in other regions.
