Wife of the Prime Minister Robert Abela, Lydia took to social media and called her mum her ‘pillar of strength – the heart and soul of our family.’

‘I love you mum’, she wrote in a caption to two photos of her beloved mother.

Meanwhile, Lydia’s sister and Parliamentary Secretary for Local Councils Alison Zerafa Civelli also posted a photo, writing:

‘Today we celebrate her, our mother, because today is the day our Lily was born.’

Legendary Singer Al Bano To Feature On Local Carnival Float

Legendary Italian singer and actor Albano Antonio Carrisi, better known as Al Bano, will be featured on local carnival company ‘Triton Carnival Company’s float this year!

Al Bano sent out a message of support for the company, thanking the team for their hard work and for including him among the many legends from Italian history and culture.

Al Bano is following in the footsteps of Buffon, who also sent a message of support for his feature on the float.

The float, entitled Una Notte Con Le Stelle, will feature various Italian figures, including Gerry Scotti, Da Vinci , Roberto Benigni, Romina Power and more!

Al Bano has deeper ties to Malta, having performed last year during the first edition of ‘Una Notte Con Le Stelle’, singing his well known ‘Felicita’ to thousands of Maltese fans.
