Ikun żball li naqtgħu qalbna… Hemm bżonn iktar ħidma. – Alex Borg On Maltatoday’s Survey

Ikun żball li naqtgħu qalbna... Hemm bżonn iktar ħidma. - Alex Borg On Maltatoday's Survey
Jun 8 2025 Share

In a statement this morning following the publication of the Maltatoday’s survey, PN MP Alex Borg said the results show that, “We still haven’t made enough progress to be considered a true alternative government.”

“Despite the fact that the survey in Gozo shows the Nationalist Party remains the people’s choice, we must work more wisely across all of Malta and all social strata to achieve the progress that is needed,” he said.

Borg also acknowledged the limitations of the survey: “I understand that the sample size in Gozo is proportionally small. I never let that go to my head and I won’t now especially when I know we must work even harder as a party.”

“It would be a mistake to give up hope. It would be a mistake to ease our efforts. It would be a mistake to stop listening and speaking. It would be a mistake to point fingers at one another—especially on social media.”

He emphasised the need for greater commitment: “If we’re going to be accused of needing more renewal, then I’ll continue to push a new generation of youth forward so that no one is left behind, and together we can renew ourselves while growing stronger.”

“If I’ve been entering people’s homes, I’ll now enter even more because that’s where the solution lies: with the people.”

Robert Abela Leads National Trust Ratings With 50%

Jun 8 2025 Share

MaltaToday’s Trust Barometer for June reveals that Abela’s trust rating stands at 50%, an increase of 3.5 points since April. Meanwhile, Grech’s rating has declined by 1.2 points to 18.8%, marking his lowest score since February 2024.

The survey also found that 31.2% of voters trust none of the political parties.

The survey, carried out between 28 May and 6 June among 647 respondents, reports the following national voting intentions: PL 53.3%, PN 39.7%, Momentum 3.1%, ADPD 1.6%, and Others 2.2%.

Labour’s lead has grown from 24,000 votes in April to almost 39,000 in June, according to the survey: “The Labour Party has increased its lead over the Nationalist Party from 24,000 votes in April to nearly 39,000 now,” MaltaToday’s June survey shows.

Current voting intentions are broadly in line with the 2022 general election, when Labour also secured a significant lead.
