Anyone tuning in to Love Island Malta might notice the various political adverts that play before the show begins and during the ad breaks.

Following this, the official Love Island Malta issued a post asking if it is possible for the parties to ‘re-couple’ (to use Love Island lingo) with other shows.

‘Your political promos have us waiting an extra 15 minutes for Love Island to start’, the post explained. ‘Since our vibe is all about love, how about considering re-coupling with other TV shows?’

What do you think? Should political adverts play in conjunction with other shows?

Designer’s Custom Toenail Slippers Go Viral

Designer's Custom Toenail Slippers Go Viral
May 23 2024 Share

Designer Canyaon, renowned for his innovative upcycling projects, has taken footwear design to a new level with his latest creation: the “Toes Slippers.”

Known for transforming 20 recycled caps into sneakers and adding plastic “boulders” to MSCHF’s Super Normal silhouette, Canyaon’s work often pushes the boundaries of conventional design.

The “Toes Slippers” are a quirky alteration of the YEEZY Slide, modified to resemble an enormous big toe. Featuring a full-colour “toenail” over the slide’s front opening, these slippers boast a bulky, cartoonish appearance that teeters on the edge of the grotesque. This design is reminiscent of Gaetano Pesce’s Il Piede and Imran Potato’s Caveman Slippers, offering a playful yet bizarre twist on typical footwear.

Despite the viral attention, the “Toes Slippers” remain a design concept with no current plans for production or release. For those seeking less extravagant options, the market offers various summertime mules, such as Nike’s Clogposite and the backless Beatnik by NEEDLES and Reebok.

Canyaon’s latest creation underscores his reputation for bold and unconventional designs, capturing the imagination of fashion enthusiasts with his whimsical approach to upcycled footwear.
