In a heartfelt post, Celebrate Life Malta shared the touching tribute paid to Lorenzo Vella, the head of the European Commission Representation in Malta, who passed away due to a short illness.
At the funeral, Cheryl, Lorenzo’s wife, wanted to make sure her children gave their father the goodbye they wished.
The kids were included in the preparations, they chose their father’s farewell outfit and they eft handprints of their tiny hands of his coffin.
A final picture with daddy’s mummy’s and the kids’ handprints were created, which the little ones put on their father’s coffin in the hearse.
‘Children are young, true, but they need to be allowed to grief. Just like us adults, they need closure. And today’s closure was simply beautiful. They saw their daddy leave this world in a celebration full of flowers and beautiful music.’
‘Lorenzo Vella, may you rest in eternal peace. Your wife made sure you were sent off in the most beautiful of ways and your kids were so happy you took their handprints with you on your next journey.’
