On Friday, November 29th, Rodney Gatt will represent Malta in the 16th edition of the Prix des Rencontres Internationales du Trotteur Français, held at Vincennes race track in Paris.
This prestigious event, organized by the Société du Trotteur Français, invites drivers from various countries, including traditional European participants such as Germany, Austria, Belgium, and the UK, as well as newcomers like Algeria and China.
The highlight of the event is the Prix des Rencontres, a race featuring horses driven by drivers from the invited nations. This year, the race, scheduled as the 7th event on the card, will air live on French TV station Equidia at 9:44 PM.
In keeping with tradition, the race is also a reclamer event, with participating horses available for blind bidding starting at 18,000 euros.
Rodney Gatt will drive horse number 14, Gowen Chaleonnais, an eight-year-old gelding trained by G. Masschaele and owned by Ms. Marine Ver Hulst of Belgium.
The event will also feature an awards ceremony, where Crack Money will be named Best French Trotter in Malta for 2023 after an impressive season.
Owner Stephen Ciangura will attend the ceremony, along with Vice-Chairman Tony Demanuele of the Malta Racing Club, continuing the strong ties between Malta and the Société du Trotteur Français.
