French media captured footage of the fallen blades lying on the ground. Firefighters at the scene mentioned that the exact cause of the collapse is still unknown. The technical teams at the Moulin Rouge, who check the windmill mechanism weekly, had not noticed any problems prior to the incident. Remarkably, this is the first major accident at the cabaret since it opened on October 6, 1889, except for a significant fire in 1915 during renovations, which closed it for nine years.

The Moulin Rouge is not just a building but a symbol of Parisian nightlife and entertainment, famous worldwide like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral. It’s best known as the birthplace of the can-can dance and attracts mostly tourists. This incident comes just as Paris is preparing to host the Summer Olympic Games, raising concerns about the city’s readiness for the expected surge in visitors.

Kanye West Announces Yeezy Adult Film Site

Kanye West Announces Yeezy Adult Film Site
Apr 25 2024 Share

Kanye West, also known as Ye, has recently hinted at launching a new venture in the adult entertainment industry under his Yeezy brand. Reports from TMZ revealed that he might be partnering with Mike Moz, Stormy Daniels’s ex-husband, to start this new division.

Ye shared a video on Twitter/X, teasing the project with a caption that suggests the upcoming launch of “Yeezy Porn.” Although the video directed viewers to visit Yeezy.com, as of now, the website does not show any adult content.

This move follows a series of controversial actions by West, including displaying a pornographic film to Adidas executives during a meeting. This incident occurred shortly before Adidas ended their highly successful sneaker and apparel partnership with him in October 2022, due to his public antisemitic comments.

West’s representative has indicated that he is seriously pursuing this adult entertainment project, which could be launched as early as this summer.

Further details and official comments from West’s team are still pending.

Underage Drinking in Malta Revealed in Latest WHO Report

Underage Drinking in Malta Revealed in Latest WHO Report
Apr 25 2024 Share

A concerning WHO/Europe report reveals that substance use among adolescents is increasing globally, with alarming figures emerging from small countries like Malta and larger ones like England. The study, derived from data covering 280,000 children, highlights that in Malta, even at the young age of 11, alcohol consumption is notable: 10% of girls and 14% of boys have already had alcohol.

Furthermore, England ranks highest for underage drinking among the surveyed regions, pointing to a widespread issue of early alcohol exposure among children. The report forms part of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) survey and shows that across Europe, central Asia, and Canada, more than half of 15-year-olds have tried alcohol, and about 20% are recent e-cigarette users.

This troubling trend is compounded by a closing gender gap in substance use, with girls increasingly matching or exceeding boys in rates of smoking, drinking, and vaping by age 15. The data suggests a shift in traditional patterns and a growing need for targeted prevention strategies.

Such findings emphasise the importance of robust prevention measures to protect young people. Strategies might include stricter control over the sale and marketing of alcohol and tobacco products, banning flavoured e-cigarettes, and combating targeted advertising that normalises substance use among youth. The aim is clear: to shield adolescents from the adverse effects of these harmful substances and promote a healthier future.
