Conrad Neil Gatt has just been awarded a Malta Record for his trek around the Maltese islands with various heritage sites dotting the pathway!

Celebrating his 48th birthday, Conrad visited 48 heritage sites in 9 hours 21 minutes and 19 seconds, walking a total of 51.620 kilometres.

Conrad, a former Liquorish contestant, is a local enthusiast of exploration and the country’s heritage, and titled the trek ‘L-Istorja Tkompli’ (History Continues), broadcasting it live on Facebook.

The goal is to educate people about Malta’s rich cultural heritage whilst also encouraging physical activity.

The Malta Records awarded his dedication with a plaque to commemorate a very special 48th birthday indeed.

Maltese endurance swimmer Neil Agius has been nominated for two major World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) Awards—Man of the Year and Performance of the Year.

These nominations place him among the world’s top open-water swimmers and recognise his incredible achievements in the sport.

Agius made history on September 23, 2024, setting a new world record for the longest unassisted, current-neutral ocean swim.

He covered 142.3 km around Malta and Gozo in 60 hours, 35 minutes, and 4 seconds, redefining endurance swimming.

Neil is nominated for:

Man of the Year: Honours individuals who inspire and lead the open-water swimming community.

Performance of the Year: Recognises swims that push human limits and make history.

Past winners include legendary swimmers like Andy Donaldson, making Agius’ nomination a testament to his world-class status.

The WOWSA Awards are determined by public vote – which you can contribute to before February 6th, 2025.

Local actress Kaylie Magri has appeared during the second season of Netflix’s ‘Mo’, playing a police officer interacting protagonist Mohammed ‘Mo’ Najjar.

‘I’m on Netflix! So grateful to have been part of Mo Season 2 – a beautifully written story’, wrote Kaylie on social media.

Kaylie plays Tamar, appearing on the first episode of the second season. The show follows a Palestinian refugee living in Houston, Texas as he seeks asylum and citizenship in the United States.
