And for the majority of you, it seems as though it does!

In two separate polls on Facebook and Instagram, most respondents voted for ‘yes’, in that the EBU ban on the word ‘Kant’ actually helps Mariana’s odds at the contest this year.

What do the odds say however? As it stands, Malta has been going down and currently sits in 14th place, between Cyprus and Italy.

‘Malta’s Eurovision entry has been ordered to change its song Kant – allegedly due to the likeness with the C-word.’

‘Kant means singing in Maltese but its pronunciation is similar to the C-word in English.’

This comes as the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) condemned the ban as censorship against the Maltese language.

Miriana is set to represent Malta in Basel, Switzerland in May and the team is finding ways to reinvent the song to work around the ban, release the music video and still be able to compete should the ban hold.
