Local artists take the stage for long-awaited return of Rockestra

Yesterday, the MFCC in Ta’ Qali hosted the return of Rockestra, the annual concert which welcomes a long list of local talent for a unique show which has cemented itself as one of Malta’s favourite yearly events.

Various local artists performed at this year’s Rockestra including Pawlu Borg Bonaci, The New Victorians, Klinsmann, Kersten Graham, Ozzy Lino and many more. The President of Malta George Vella and his wife Mrs. Vella were also in attendance, together with Opposition leader Bernard Grech.

The second and final show will take place tonight and like the first one, will be in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

“This is the real Malta,” Adrian Delia shares touching charity story

Nationalist MP and former PN leader Adrian Delia took to Facebook on Saturday morning to share a touching story and an exhibit of Malta’s kind-hearted nature.

Delia revealed that he was at a meeting with a client when he received a text message stating that an institution in Malta needed food and could not access it due to quarantine. Delia immediately messaged 3 of his friends and clients, with one of them replying immediately stating “even if I have to drop everything and go buy and cook myself.”

The Sister responsible for the institution was then notified that they were going to be sorted on food until December 14, with Delia highlighting that by the time he got home, the other two people he messaged got back to him wanting to help as well.

He concluded the heart-warming post by stating that “This is the real Malta, these are our Maltese brothers and sisters, let us all think of each other.”

WATCH: Man caught stealing money from air pump at fuel station

A video has been making the rounds on social media which shows a man stealing the money from the air pump at a fuel station.

The station in question is reportedly the Raħal Ġdid fuel station, with the video posted on popular Maltese group RUBS. The man, whose identity is currently unknown, allegedly targeted more fuel stations. The video shows the man opening both car doors to hide himself from any passers-by.

The public is encouraged to come forward with any information they may have on the situation and remain alert at all times.

Malta experiences wettest Autumn since 1999, Met Office says

The Meteorological Office has revealed that this year, Malta registered its wettest autumn since 1999 with 413.2mm of rainfall recorded.

While September had very little rain, clocking in at 18.4mm, October and November saw an impressive 246.2mm and 148.6mm respectively, with a total of 17 thunderstorms hitting the Maltese islands. The Met Office has stated that, in comparison with the climate norms, Malta has already experienced 83% of the total rainfall normally expected in one “precipitation year” which starts in September and finishes in August.

Strong winds were also a trademark of this autumn, with the office issuing three strong wind warnings and noting gale force winds towards the end of November.
