The Malta Football Association have just released the 125 year anniversary shirt as a tribute to all these years of local football.
A collector’s piece set to be sought out by many football fans, the shirt was ‘designed for today’ but ‘inspired by our past.’
And a very rich past indeed, as Malta’s football scene continued to grow and expand its level with every passing game, year and goal.

Nine thousand square metres of land in Pembroke have been transformed into a new green space for local residents, following a €700,000 investment by Project Green.
Previously a concrete-covered plot within a development zone, the site has been regenerated into what is now known as St David’s Garden—named by the Pembroke Local Council in honour of the town’s twinning with Pembroke, Wales.
The garden, located just a ten-minute walk from around 3,600 households, was inaugurated by Environment Minister Miriam Dalli, Project Green CEO Joseph Cuschieri, and Pembroke Mayor Kaylon Zammit. Speaking at the opening, Minister Dalli said: “These are everyone’s gardens; visit them, look after them and, above all, enjoy them.”
The project includes sustainable features such as three adjacent reservoirs to supply irrigation, permeable surfaces to support natural rainwater absorption, and over 100 trees and 1,000 shrubs. Wide paths have also been laid to ensure full accessibility.
Project Green’s CEO Joseph Cuschieri described the initiative as a “breath of new life” into the locality, transforming what was once concrete into a vibrant garden full of trees, flowers, and opportunities for relaxation.
In collaboration with Aġenzija Sapport, Project Green has also begun regenerating nearby land to further increase green areas in the town.
Mayor Zammit said the Council had worked closely with residents to create a space that balances community needs with environmental goals.
Since 2022, the Environment Ministry has delivered 60 environmental projects across Malta, including improvements to gardens, parks, and valleys.
