Lidl Malta reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Puttinu Cares by donating €15,000 as the main sponsor of this year’s Good Friday Night Walk.

Lidl Malta’s contribution played a key role in supporting the initiative which raises funds for patients needing treatment abroad.

Since 2011, Lidl Malta has been a steadfast partner of Puttinu Cares, backing major events like the Football and Volleyball Marathon and now the Good Friday walk.

Lidl Malta said that their long-standing partnership with Puttinu Cares is a statement to their “dedication to social responsibility and a genuine desire to provide support to those who need it the most”, highlighting their commitment to helping the NGO and local causes.

Civil Protection Malta Contains Car Blaze In St Julian’s

Firefighters from Civil Protection Malta Stations 4 and 11 responded to a vehicle fire in St. Julian’s yesterday afternoon.

The blaze, involving an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle, was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Civil Protection Malta thanked the Malta Police Force for their assistance in managing the scene and ensuring public safety.

Thousands Turn Up For Annual Puttinu Cares Night Walk

Thousands of people participated in the 20th edition of the ‘Puttinu Cares Good Friday Night Walk’, showing strong support for cancer patients and their families.

The walk began at midnight from the Mellieħa Parish Square and ended at the Granaries in Floriana, covering around 17km across the Maltese island.

All funds raised go directly to Puttinu Cares, which provides vital support and financial assistance to patients undergoing cancer treatment, particularly those needing care abroad.

The annual walk, now in its 20th year, continues to grow in popularity, uniting the Maltese community in a meaningful act of solidarity each Easter.

For those wishing to donate, donations can still be made through the Puttinu Cares website and during today’s televised fundraising marathon.
