Oscar-winning producers have teamed up to create a biographical movie outlining the life of Leicester player Jamie Vardy’s career. Vardy joined Leicester nine years ago from Conference side Fleetwood Town for the price of around £1 million and has since then lifted a Premier League title and a Golden Boot.

The player has also made appearances in the Champions League, as well as lifting the club’s first FA Cup following the victory over Chelsea earlier this month. Producers responsible for ‘Goal!’ And ‘Goal! 2’ will be joining the project, and they will have plenty of material to cover in regards to the 34-year-old football star. Rumours are also circulating which state that Zac Effron, the popular Hollywood actor, is in the talks to portray the footballer on the big screen.

May 27 2021 Share

The orange 1994 Toyota Supra which first appeared in the 2001 film ‘The Fast and the Furious’ is now up for auction. The car was driven by late actor Paul Walker in the first instalment of the franchise, and is now being held up for auction in Las Vegas next month. Auction house Barrett-Jackson stated that after extensive documentation, the car was confirmed as authentic and that it was used for multiple shots in the movies.

A factory model with a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine and a four-speed automatic transmission, the car was built by Eddie Paul at The Shark Shop for the first movie. With eight films in a franchise which has generated billions in box office, ‘The Fast and the Furious’ is still awaiting the release of its ninth instalment. Walker’s passing was a terrible tragedy for the cast and crew of the franchise, with his legacy living on through future movies.

Malta scores excellently in 14-day COVID-19 case notification rate

Malta scores excellently in 14-day COVID-19 case notification rate
May 27 2021 Share

Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne announced on Facebook that Malta is in a very positive ranking in the 14-day COVID-19 case notification rate. The rating is taken per 100,000 population and in the EU weeks 19-20. Malta is situated in the ‘green box’ meaning it has just <4% positivity rate and just <25 in the 14 day notification rate per 100,000 population.

Malta is among the very few countries in this ranking, with many scoring orange or a more alarming red, which signifies a higher positivity rate. Large parts of France and Spain, along with Germany, are in this ranking. Malta’s vaccination rollout and herd immunity achievement ranked Malta in this spot, as the health measures in place and people getting their jab is having its desired effect of mitigating the spread of COVID-19.
