Legendary French DJ duo Daft Punk split up after 28 years together

Legendary French duo Daft Punk have reportedly split up after 28 years of music after posting an 8-minute excerpt from their film ‘Electroma’ with the title ‘Epilogue’.

When asked about the split, publicist Kathryn Frazier confirmed the news but did not give any reason for the break-up.

The ever-mysterious duo have left a permanent mark on electronic music and pop culture for generations to come and their visual identity and iconic music will forever be celebrated as one of the pillars of dance music.

Local artists receive European Citizen’s Award for ‘Lockdown Festival’

Despite the lockdown closing theatres and restricting crowds, the artists overcame the challenges posed to the performance communities in Malta and received a European Citizen’s Award in recognition of their work.

The festival, broadcasted through Facebook from the artists’ homes last March, received an audience of over sixty thousand spectators.

Their work has raised €3,000 and distributed to all those involved, garnered European acclaim and created a network for artists during such turbulent times.

A possible return for Harry Potter films

Potter fans might be in for a treat as Warner Bros. is negotiating with the original cast members for an as of yet unknown project. The crew has recently brought Fantastic Beasts to the big screen, keeping Hogwarts alive and well, but the future project might take fans on a new adventure.

Of many possible avenues, the most likely would be J.K. Rowling’s play ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ but fans will have to wait to see but in more recent news.

In light of this news, yesterday would have marked the 75th birthday of Severus Snape’s actor Alan Rickman.

Iconic Ta’ Rita restaurant to be converted into larger guest house

Planning case officer has approved the change of Għar Lapsi restaurant Ta’ Rita into a slightly larger guest house. The Planning Board will confirm decision of 4 March.

The restaurant with historical presence will have a first floor level, an underground parking, hall and marine leisure shop, making it relatively bulkier.

Cultural Heritage objected to the mass increase of the building, but the case officer claims this will be a modernisation of the building which will not affect the environmental and visual aspect of the surroundings.
