Legendary band The Script, best known for chart-topping hits like Hall of Fame and Superheroes, recently showed appreciation for Maltese singer Klinsmann by commenting on his TikTok cover of their track For the First Time.

Klinsmann, a well-loved figure in Malta’s music scene, shared an acoustic rendition of the song, and the band’s positive reaction surely came as a surprise.

The Irish group, known for their emotional lyrics and powerful performances, are currently on a global tour that began in 2024 and will run through 2025, continuing to connect with fans worldwide in both live shows and online.

Nineteen Arrested In Marsaskala For Residing And Working In Malta Illegally

Yesterday, The Malta Police force while inspecting traffic in Marsaskala, arrested 19 people who were residing and working in Malta illegally.

The 19 people arrested were taken to the detention centre for further inspections and return process.

The operations that took place involved officers from Police Force, Detention Services Agency, Transport Malta, Identità and Jobs Plus.

Maltese Leaders Honour Francis Zammit Dimech with Heartfelt Tributes

Politician Francis Zammit Dimech has sadly passed away at the age of 70 after a battle with illness.

His passing was announced by Opposition Leader Bernard Grech, who remembered him as a true gentleman who devoted decades of service to both the Nationalist Party and the country.

“Francis served with steadfast loyalty in every position he held,” Grech said.


“He overcame every obstacle, defused tensions with ease, and met adversity with a smile. He was always ready to help or offer advice, but never intervened unless asked.”

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola also paid a heartfelt tribute, expressing her deep gratitude for his support throughout her career—particularly 25 years ago when she ran in her first European election. She said words could never fully capture her appreciation.

Prime Minister Robert Abela described Francis as a kind and respectful politician, noting that although he was a strong debater, he always remained courteous. Meanwhile, President Myriam Spiteri Debono thanked him for a lifetime of service to the Maltese public, even during difficult times such as her tenure as Acting President.


Speaker of the House Anġlu Farrugia also issued a statement, expressing profound sorrow at Zammit Dimech’s passing and noting that his decades of public service—both in Parliament and in Government—were marked by integrity and a steadfast commitment to Malta’s democracy.

Former Minister Francis Zammit Dimech Dies Aged 70

Former Nationalist Party Minister Francis Zammit Dimech has passed away at the age of 70.

A lawyer by profession, Zammit Dimech graduated from the University of Malta in 1979 and became involved in politics from an early stage.

He first contested the general election in 1987 and remained a PN candidate until 2017.

Throughout his political career, he held several ministerial roles, including in transport, environment, infrastructure, and tourism.

Between 2017 and 2019, he served as a Member of the European Parliament. He later took on the role of Secretary General of the Nationalist Party from 2020 to 2021, during which he also chaired the party’s media arm, MediaLink Communications.

Throughout his legal and political career, Zammit Dimech was also a lecturer at the University of Malta, teaching budding lawyers subjects such as European Media Law.

At the time of his passing, Zammit Dimech was serving as Acting President of Malta.
