Leaders Congratulate Neil Agius On Record Breaking Swim

Local political leaders have issued their congratulations to record-breaking ultra-endurance swimmer Neil Agius after swimming around the Maltese islands.

Prime Minister Robert Abela congratulated him for his epic deed, whilst also thanking him for continuing to raise awareness about our seas’ health and safeguarding.

Opposition leader Bernard Grech called him an inspiration for us all who’s shown people that with stamina, perseverance and determination it is never impossible to achieve what one wishes.

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola described Neil as ‘our Maltese legend.’

‘The personification of ‘Never Give Up’. An inspiration to all of us.’

Also present at Neil’s resurfacing was Sport Minister Clifton Grima, who along with the Prime Minister, shared a few words with the athlete. ‘Our own hero’, wrote Clifton.

4,750Kgs of Waste Cleared By Coast is Clear And Volunteers

In celebration of World Cleanup Day this September, Coast is Clear and its dedicated volunteers have made incredible progress, clearing 4,750 kgs of waste from Malta’s land, coasts, and sea. So far, eight cleanups have been successfully completed, with four more planned before the end of the month. The team has already tackled various areas, and next up on the list are Ta’ Xbiex, Sliema, Naxxar, and Marsa, with efforts wrapping up by the 30th.

Coast is Clear, along with their friends, is committed to restoring Malta’s natural beauty and protecting the environment. Their mission, inspired by World Cleanup Day, is more than just removing waste—it’s about raising awareness and encouraging the community to take action for a cleaner, greener planet. With a few weeks left in September, their call to action remains strong as they gear up for their final cleanups. Volunteers are welcome to join and make a difference.

Love Island star Ella Barnes has revealed that she is now dating Maltese Neil Farrugia, following her brief romance with fellow contestant Mitch Taylor.

Ella, who appeared on the 10th series of the ITV2 show, seems to have found love again, this time with Neil, who has previously been linked to another Love Island star, Gemma Owen.

Neil shared a photo of Ella on his Instagram story during their romantic getaway to Dubai, where she was seen enjoying dinner by the sea.

Ella has also shared glimpses of their luxurious trip on her own social media, including a photo of her sipping champagne on a yacht, subtly showing Neil’s hand in the corner. The couple finished their evening with some tequila shots.

Ella’s relationship with Neil comes after her brief romances with Mitch and Towie’s Roman Hackett, and her social media posts suggest that things are going well with her new millionaire beau.

Maltese Singer To Have EP Produced By Lady Gaga and Pink Producer

Maltese singer-songwriter Claire Tonna has announced a major milestone in her music career. Tonna is set to collaborate with Grammy Award-winning producer Jon John Robinson, known for his work with legendary artists such as Diana Ross, Lady Gaga, Pink, and TLC. This October, Tonna will travel to Dallas, Texas, to begin recording her new EP at Arcadia Music Studios, with the release planned for January on international platforms.

The project is a significant achievement for Tonna, who has spent years refining her distinctive contralto voice and songwriting, which captures the essence of human resilience and emotion. She sees this moment as a celebration not just for her but for all Maltese artists striving to make their mark internationally.
