Last Public Consultation On Miscarriage Leave In Gozo

The last public consultation on the introduction of miscarriage leave has taken place in Gozo, with Parliamentary Secretary Andy Ellul thanking everyone who contributed to the effort.

Ellul said that people who could not have participated live in the discussion will now have the opportunity to do so via an online process that will be launched in the coming days.

He says that he looks forward to moving towards becoming a country that introduces the leave to make Maltese society even more equal for people.

5,600 Youth Apply For Free Gym Scheme In 1 Month

Nearly 5,600 young people have applied for the government’s free gym membership scheme within just over a month of its launch, according to a report by ONE News.

The initiative was announced by Prime Minister Robert Abela with the aim of promoting a more active lifestyle among youth.

The scheme appears to be generating increased interest in physical activity and exercise, particularly among younger age groups.

ONE News reported of one gym which reported a 30% rise in youth attendance since the initiative began.

Scorching Week Ahead As Temperatures Hit 35°C

A scorching hot week is ahead of us, as temperatures are expected to reach at least 35°C by the second half of the week, according to the official MET Office forecast.

As June slowly makes its way to July and summer officially begins (yesterday, June 22nd, was the summer solstice after all), we will be getting that notorious summer heat falling down upon us.

That means lots of beach time, switched on air-conditioning and heat stroke warnings!

According to It-Temp Madwarna, yesterday we had 14 hours, 35 minutes and 50 seconds of sunlight due to it being the longest day of the year.

Franco Debono Attends PN’s General Council

Taking to social media, lawyer and former PN MP Franco Debono said that given his support urging him to try for the leadership, he would attend the General Council.

Debono said that he would be doing this as a form of duty due to the number of people expressing their support and seeing Franco as their favourite candidate.

This comes after another survey, this time by MaltaToday, confirmed him as the third most favoured candidate to become the next leader of the Opposition.

The MaltaToday survey, like the one quoted by Times of Malta, once again placed Alex Borg at the top position with 23.2% of support, followed by Adrian Delia at 11.2%
