In a vibrant display of unity and determination, the Kunsill Studenti Universitarji (KSU) organised a Beach Day Demonstration in Castille Square this morning.
This event aimed to underscore the importance of preserving the country’s picturesque beaches for the public’s enjoyment while shedding light on the issue of excessive privatisation, with a special focus on the stunning island of Comino.
In the face of increasing concerns about the commercial exploitation of these natural treasures, KSU’s demonstration sought to send a resounding message: Malta’s beaches must remain open and free for all.
Over the years, Malta has witnessed a surge in protests and campaigns dedicated to safeguarding its precious coastal resources. These efforts have been driven by the growing concern that some of the most pristine stretches of sand and crystal-clear waters are at risk of falling into the hands of private individuals or corporations, jeopardising public access and the ecological balance of these areas.
