Kids Enjoy Foam Party Ahead Of Żurrieq Festa

A foam party was held in Żurrieq ahead of the village feast by the Sezzjoni Nisa Karmelitani.

Children from the locality and elsewhere met together to enjoy some cool foam as a hot day started to come to an end.

Water slide castles and some snacks like cotton candy were also provided for all those in attended as the excitement for the feast ramps up in the village.

The activity forms part of the Festa Tfal initiative which seeks to include the kids and the youth in the festa tradition, which is part and parcel of almost every Maltese locality.

A heat warning has been issued by the MET Office due to intense heat as maximum temperatures are expected to reach 35°C today.

Temperatures are set to remain just as hot throughout this entire week, feeling like 36°C by Thursday 11th July.

The overall weather is expected to be hot and sunny, with Monday being somewhat hazy – as reported by Facebook weather page ‘It-Temp Madwarna’.

The incoming heat is being attributed to an African anticyclone which is heating up after a number of milder days in terms of temperature.

Dive Systems Malta’s Sergey Markov shared footage he and his fellow divers took of the rare monk seal in Maltese waters.

Despite not revealing the exact location of the marine mammal (which many commenters seemingly agreed with), the seal was found hiding in a shallow cave.

‘The Monk Seal is native to the Mediterranean and an endangered species with only an estimated 1,000 individuals still roaming the sea’, he explained.

‘The seal was last spotted in Malta over 30 years ago’, but this proved to be a unique experience for the divers.

Malta Public Transport Announces Special Services For Isle of MTV 2024

Malta Public Transport will be providing special services to facilitate travel for all thoseattending the Isle of MTV event taking place at the Floriana Granaries on Tuesday, 16th July, 2024.

This annual music festival has become a key fixture in Europe’s festival calendars, with Malta hosting the event since 2007.

The bus services provided by the Malta Public Transport will be leaving from Valletta and will commence at 23:00 and end at 01:30. For those who do not own a Tallinja card, tickets will only be at €3 per passenger.
