Tourism Minister says Malta is working to get onto UK’s green list

Tourism Minister says Malta is working to get onto UK’s green list
May 10 2021 Share

Speaking to Malta Independent, Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo stated that the tourism, health and foreign affairs authorities are working tirelessly and in a coordinated fashion to get Malta onto the UK’s green list within the coming weeks. In anticipation of the reopening of tourism on June 1st, Bartolo stated that he is confident Malta will have a very positive summer in the coming months. He also confirmed that Germany had removed Malta from their travel risk list and that this is positive news since Germany is Malta’s second largest tourism market.

Asked whether the UK will remove Malta from the risk list in the near future, Bartolo stated that should Malta continue to work in a coordinated fashion this would be entirely possible. Currently, people arriving in the UK from Malta will have to observe a quarantine period after arriving in the country.
