Juve beat Spezia 4-1 as Ronaldo silences critics

Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to the pitch after recovering from coronavirus and the Portuguese star is back with a vengeance.

Ronaldo scored twice in a 4-1 victory against Spezia, putting Juventus in third place in the Serie A, 4 points below AC Milan who are currently unbeaten this league.

WHO Director-General in quarantine after contact with COVID-19

The World Health Organization’s (WHO) Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, took to Twitter to announced that he is currently in quarantine following contact with someone who had tested positive for COVID-19. 

He reports that he is currently without symptoms but will remain in quarantine, in line with WHO protocols.

Tedros also appealed that it is of utmost importance that we comply with health guidelines.

Could Malta also be heading for lockdown?

Following insider reports of 200+ cases to be announced today, the idea of another lockdown in Malta will certainly be put on the table to contain local spread of the coronavirus.

Belgium, France, Germany and Greece have all announced a second round of lockdowns with Italy and Spain announcing tighter measures and restrictions such as curfews as the closure of catering and recreational establishments.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has also announced a second lockdown in the UK following a surge in cases across the continent.

This begs the question, could Malta be heading for a second lockdown to try and save the Christmas period?

Record number of 200+ cases expected today

Insider sources have reported that more than 200 COVID-19 cases are expected to be reported by the Health Authorities today.

This comes following the supposed closure of bars and clubs to mitigate the spread of the virus.
