Malta’s ex-Prime Minister took to Instagram on Saturday night to share a picture of his family and wish his dog a happy birthday! 

‘Habiba Perla’ is the Muscat family Chow Chow and is caught admiring her birthday cupcake in the Instagram photo.

Clayton Bartolo to be appointed as Malta’s new Tourism Minister

Malta Daily is informed that Junior Minister for Financial Services and Digital Economy, Clayton Bartolo, is set to replace Julia Farrugia Portelli and become the new tourism minister.

141 new cases of COVID-19 & 159 recoveries in the past 24 hours

Malta has registered 141 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,391 swab tests, while 159 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

Today’s cases are still being investigated. From yesterday’s cases: 20 cases were family members of previously known cases, 21 cases were contact of positive work colleagues and 11 cases were from direct contacts with other positive cases.

To date, Malta has registered 8,822 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 6,56 have recovered, 111 died and 2,146 are still active.

Valletta’s Christmas lights are up

Valletta’s Christmas lights were officially switched on as we’re now heading for the last week of November and Christmas is edging closer.

Although this will be a Christmas unlike any other because of the pandemic, the city lights were still turned on to give hope for all those residing in Malta.

The Tourism Ministry have already clarified that there will be no mass events this year and that the few outdoor activities which will be held will be in full conformity with all Covid-19 regulations.
