Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech and Minister for Tourism and Consumer Production Clayton Bartolo took to Facebook to announce that more international productions are being filmed in Malta and Gozo. A reality show in Gozo and a new TV series in Malta are set to give more opportunities for Maltese and Gozitan workers in the sector. Between the two projects, the economy will be acquiring around €3 million. Television Malta also met up with Irish actors who are looking forward to revisit our island which, according to them, possesses the ideal ingredients for filming productions.
A British production will be filmed in Dar Bingemma, focused on four friends who visit Malta and end up in a problematic situation. Ghar Lapsi, Mizieb and Ghajn Tuffieha were all zones used in the production. Another Swedish production is taking place in a Gozitan villa, which is expected to generate around €1.5 million into Gozo’s economy and created around 90 new opportunities for work.
