Jamie Cardona is set to make Maltese theatre history, as his one-man show Mid-Djarju ta’ Student fi Skola tal-Knisja will be officially recognised as the longest-running solo theatrical production in Malta.
This weekend, Cardona will be presented with a national record by The Malta Records in honour of his remarkable achievement.
Since its debut in April 2024, the performance has captivated audiences across the country, selling out every show.
Written and performed by Cardona himself, the production offers a humorous and heartfelt glimpse into teenage life in a Maltese church school, resonating deeply with audiences of all ages.
The Malta Records will formally acknowledge this historic milestone with an official certificate during one of the upcoming performances in April.
The show’s widespread popularity reflects a growing appreciation for homegrown theatre and highlights Cardona’s exceptional ability to connect with the public through relatable storytelling.
Directed by Vikesh Godhwani, Mid-Djarju ta’ Student fi Skola tal-Knisja has not only broken records but also strengthened the presence of Maltese-language productions on local stages.
With strong demand continuing, the production team has pledged to extend the show’s run, securing its place as a defining moment in Maltese cultural history.
