Taking to social media, son of ex-England footballer Jamie Carragher, Jamie, spoke about his debut with the Malta National team, describing it as an ‘unbelievable experience.’
‘Unbelievable experience playing against some of the world’s best’, he wrote. ‘Cant wait to do it again in June.’
James joined the Malta team for matches against Finland (at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium) and against Poland, with both matches finishing in losses for Malta.
Malta national football team coach Emilio De Leo revealed that Carragher would be part of the 37 man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA WORLD CUP EUROPEAN qualifiers after he obtained his Maltese citizenship.
