May 21 2024 Share

PN Floriana local councilor James Aaron Ellul has revealed on his Instagram and Facebook pages that on the iconic Floriana walls (swar) there are multiple cases of graffiti.

He also revealed the poor state that the Jubilee Grove is currently in and reminded his followers that 7 years ago he pushed a motion for the protection and the elevation of the Grove’s importance, yet everything remained on the shelf.

Ellul argued that the Grove should be turned into a national park so the nature found in it is appreciated and enjoyed by Maltese and Gozitan families.

He stated that the Nationalist Party have been insisting to make Jubilee Grove a priority for a long time and that the party believes that the iconic Floriana walls require maximum attention.

A Johnny Depp, Margot Robbie Pirates Of The Caribbean Film?

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, which seemed adrift, may be regaining direction. Margot Robbie was initially set to star in a new film, but she expressed doubts about Disney’s interest in 2022. However, producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently provided a positive update on both Robbie’s project and a separate reboot he is working on.

Bruckheimer clarified to Entertainment Weekly that there are two distinct movies in development: one reboot he’s producing with writer Jeff Nathanson, and another led by Robbie with a script by Christina Hodson.

Bruckheimer expressed hope that both films will be made, and he believes Disney still wants to proceed with Robbie’s version, which aims for a female-led narrative.

The last installment, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” (2017), featured Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightley. Bruckheimer, who produced it, is reuniting with Nathanson and director Joachim Rønning for “Young Woman and the Sea.”

While developing the reboot, Bruckheimer praised Nathanson’s work, particularly the third act, though it won’t feature familiar characters. Despite Depp’s legal issues with ex-wife Amber Heard, Bruckheimer voiced support for Depp’s return as Captain Jack Sparrow, highlighting his unique portrayal.

The reboot, written by Ted Elliott, is progressing slowly but steadily, with Bruckheimer emphasizing the value of patience for quality writing.

Immediate action by the police led to two 18-year old youths being arrested after they allegedly committed a burglary at a residence in Naxxar as they were found in possession of items that belonged to the same residence.

At around half past two in the morning (0230hrs), the police were informed that on Triq il-Port Ruman, St. Paul’s Bay, there were two suspicious individuals who were in possession of a large sharp and pointed weapon.

The police immediately went to the location and in the same street noticed the two individuals who matched the given description.

They were stopped and a search revealed they were in possession of a hatchet, a machete, and a quantity of jewelry. At that moment, they were arrested on the spot and taken to the station for further investigation.

During the investigations, the police discovered that the jewelry found in the possession of the arrested individuals had allegedly been stolen from a residence on Triq Ta’ l-Imdawra, in Naxxar, just a short time before.

The investigations also revealed that a few days ago a vehicle was stolen from the same property and damage was done to several vehicles in the same area, allegedly by the same youths who were arrested.
