A routine morning patrol has yielded the third turtle nesting site of this season.

The Nature Trust Malta (NTM – FEE) volunteers found the loggerhead turtle nesting site at Ir-Ramla l-Ħamra, Gozo, and are currently coordinating with ERA officers to cordon off the area and ensure that the nest is protected.

ERA and volunteers encourage the general public to act responsibly as excessive noise, trampling and light close to the nesting area may pose a threat to turtle eggs and any hatchlings.

People Are Calling This New Netflix Season F**king Incredible

Jul 12 2024 Share

Fans of the popular Netflix historical drama series “Vikings: Valhalla” will be disappointed to learn that the newest season will be its last, leading many to speculate if the show had been canceled by the streaming giant. Debuting on Netflix in 2022, “Vikings: Valhalla” serves as a spin-off to the History Channel’s “Vikings” and takes place approximately 100 years after the original series. Initially receiving mixed reactions, the series eventually found its footing among fans of Viking history, chronicling the lives of Norse marauders’ descendants who had settled in England.

Starring Sam Corlett, Frida Gustavsson, Leo Suter, David Oakes, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, the spin-off features historical figures such as Leif Eriksson, Freydís Eiríksdóttir, Harald Hardrada, and King Cnut. Despite its historical foundation, fans might have expected ample source material to prolong the show or a deviation from historical elements, much like its predecessor.

However, Netflix has decided to conclude “Vikings: Valhalla” with three seasons. Showrunner Jeb Stuart believed this decision provided the best “natural conclusion” to the series. In a statement to Netflix’s Tudum, Stuart expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to tell the stories of Leif, Harald, and Freydis over three seasons. He emphasized the show’s focus on depicting the evolution of these iconic Vikings, stating, “It made sense story-wise for our Leif, Freydis, and Harald’s voyages to end with our third season.”

As fans eagerly await the final eight episodes, Stuart assures them of plenty of drama and bloody battles to come, including the introduction of Goran Višnjić as Erik the Red. All three seasons of “Vikings: Valhalla” are currently available to watch on Netflix, promising a satisfying conclusion to this chapter of history.
