IT’S HAPPENING! The previously-teased ‘biggest artist’ to come to Malta has been unveiled as iconic English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams.

The ‘Angels’ singer will take over Floriana’s iconic Fosos square on August 24th for a concert unlike any other, guaranteed to win the hearts of many with William’s iconic repertoire of hits including ‘Let Me Entertain You’, ‘Angels’, ‘Feel’, ‘Candy’ and so many more.

Exploding onto the scene with his band Take That, then as a solo artist, Williams has added Malta to the European Leg of his XXV Tour which celebrates 25 years since the inception of his solo career.

Addressing the event, Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo stated the following: “It is truly encouraging that another busy entertaining calendar is ahead of us. Welcoming Robbie Williams in the Maltese Islands showcases the country’s potential in attracting reputable worldwide artists that will provide an added value experience for all those tourists who visit Malta during the peak summer months.”

This will be the first time Williams will perform in Malta and tickets are expected to go live on Monday 23rd January at midday, so if you’re looking forward to seeing the legend himself in concert, MARK YOUR CALENDAR.

In the latest update of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s PR whirlwind, it has been revealed that ‘Harry & Meghan’ has become Netflix’s second most successful documentary series.

Days before the launch of Harry’s controversial memoir ‘Spare’, the first half of the six-episode series was launched on December 8, with the final three dropping a week later to widespread attention.

Neither Buckingham nor Kensington Palace have addressed the allegations made in the series, which include a number of shocking claims about the Royal Family.

The global streaming giant’s fourth quarter earnings report revealed that Netflix gained 7.7 million subscriber during its October-December period, the same timeframe where it introduce the ad-supported option in a number of territories.

The Duke’s biographical book ‘Spare’ also dropped a few bombs, making it the UK’s fastest-selling non-fiction book since it began taking records in 1998.

Minister for the the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici launched the Heritage Malta events calendar with over 70 events for the first six months of 2023, offering a wide variety of activities and experiences that may be enjoyed by people of all ages.

During the launch of the calendar, Minister Bonnici said that these initiatives are a brilliant opportunity for the public at large be introduced to various aspects of Malta’s history and culture while enjoying themselves in pro-active, hands-on experiences.

“Today marks another link in a chain of efforts leading to a new meaning for accessibility to our heritage, as well as a new meaning to heritage itself, which should not just be admired but lived and experienced because it is what forms us as a nation” said Minister Bonnici.

The jam-packed calendar running until the end of June targets children, teenagers, scholars, and the general public. Events range from fun-filled, hands-on edutainment kids’ activities to large-scale and smaller exhibitions, re-enactments, members events, curatorial talks, thematic tours, public lectures, special openings of closed sites, harbour cruises, heritage trails, equinox events, as well as Taste History’s exclusive gastronomic delights.

Heritage Malta’s Chief Executive Officer Noel Zammit said that as guardian of over 8,000 years of history, the agency’s mission is to safeguard our cultural patrimony and make it accessible to all, both physically and virtually, thus contributing towards a better appreciation of Malta’s cultural identity.

“This is what Heritage Malta strives to do every day, to the best of its abilities, and this is what the calendar of events is all about,” Mr Zammit said.

A local singer-songwriter by the name of Nicole Cassar has been making major waves on TikTok after posting a video of her performing a Maltese version of Miley Cyrus’ new track Flowers.

Singing to the camera with new Maltese lyrics above her head, Cassar made quite a hit with her most recent TikTok, gaining around 20,000 views after just one day, with many taking to the comments to give her some major props for her video.

Cassar is no stranger to performing Maltese versions of popular songs, with a translated cover of Duncan Laurence’s Eurovision-winning Arcade getting as much as 51,000 views alongside other Maltese covers such as Justin Bieber’s ‘STAY’, Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘good 4 u’ and Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Nonsense’, amongst others.
