Eve Borg Bonello Wears ‘Crooks Everywhere’ Shirt to Parliament

Eve Borg Bonello Wears 'Crooks Everywhere' Shirt to Parliament

On the seventh anniversary of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia’s assassination, Nationalist Party MP Eve Borg Bonello made a powerful statement by wearing a shirt bearing the final words from Caruana Galizia’s blog: “There are crooks everywhere you look now. The situation is desperate.”

Borg Bonello posted a photo of herself walking into Parliament wearing the shirt, accompanied by a poignant caption: “This T-shirt was given out 7 years ago, during the first protest after Daphne’s assassination. It’s ridiculous that her final words still ring true now, 7 years after that tragic day, 7 years of utter impunity. We were there at the very beginning and we will be there till the very end, when justice is finally served.”

Her action came amid ongoing calls for justice, as a vigil was held on Wednesday in Valletta to commemorate Caruana Galizia’s life and to demand accountability for her murder.

Despite multiple investigations and court proceedings, justice for the journalist—who was known for her investigative reporting on corruption in Malta—has yet to be fully realised.

Malta’s Very First Drone Delivery Service Could Begin In Next Few Weeks

Oct 17 2024 Share

Exciting developments are underway in Malta, with the country set to launch its very first drone delivery service in the coming weeks.

The service, spearheaded by the company Flying Zero, will initially focus on transporting medical supplies between hospitals, significantly reducing delivery times.

The drones will connect the St. James Hospitals located in Sliema and Żejtun, cutting the usual 20-minute drive down to just a seven-minute flight.

Flying Zero has spent over two years rigorously preparing for this moment, conducting extensive testing of its drones in Ta’ Qali throughout the summer.

The next step involves demonstrating the drones’ capabilities to Transport Malta, which will grant final authorization if the trials are successful.

Alexander Esslinger, the company’s CEO and a former commercial pilot, emphasized the potential impact on Malta’s logistics and the environment, stating, “Flying Zero represents a new era for Malta’s logistics, offering speed, efficiency, and a significant reduction in carbon emissions.”

In addition to medical deliveries, the company plans to expand its services to include port-to-ship deliveries, providing quick access to supplies for ships anchored at sea, as well as retail and e-commerce deliveries.

If successful, the initiative could mark a significant shift towards faster and greener logistics in Malta.
