Instagram could become an NFT marketplace very soon

Meta has just announced that it is introducing a number of new creator updates across Instagram and Facebook. Most notably, creators on Instagram could soon be able to create and sell NFTs directly to fans.

Through this new update, creators will have access to a ‘toolkit’ which will help them create, showcase and sell NFTs.

Polygon is the first partner which Meta chose to run this feature. The process will also take place via traditional in-app purchases across iOS and Android. And Instagram won’t take a cut from the revenue just yet.

Meta is currently testing this new feature with a small group of US creators and plans to expand it to more countries in the future.

The platform will also allow video-based digital collectibles to be showcased. Having recently launchd its Digital Collectibles feature in 100 countries, Instagram will include a shimmery effect to the NFT to indicate ‘authenticity’.

Grasshopper metamorphosis change caught on footage

Grasshopper metamorphosis change caught on footage

Birdlife Malta took to social media to showcase a rather unusual sight which we very rarely get to see play out in real time.

The footage shows a grasshopper that has just changed from its nymph form to its adult insect form. The insect perfectly camouflaged itself with the surrounding greenery as it got ready to begin a new stage in its life.

‘The old shell, or exoskeleton, can be seen discarded below the grasshopper’ the NGO explained in the caption.

‘From a distance, you would think there was a butterfly in the bush, but no, it is the grasshopper, pumping body fluids into its new wings to stretch them to full size.’
