Transport Malta organised roadside inspections on Saturday evening, stopping 95 vehicles with Y-number plates and issuing 8 contraventions for abuses ranging from drivers without licensed tags to illegal parking.
Inspections on the promenade were also carried out, with over 40 fines being issued for abuses over e-scooter use. This effort was also backed with foot patrols along the Sliema/St Julians promenade.
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Aaron Farrugia shared the news on social media, saying that the empowering of enforcement will make sure that no abuses are tolerated.
