Another inspection carried out yesterday 10th October by the police found 13 people living and working irregularly in Malta.
Focused on construction sites in St Paul’s Bay, the operation was conducted in association with the Health Authorities, officers of the Detention Services as well as the Occupational Health & Safety Authority.
The persons hailed from Georgia, Albania, Pakistan, Mali, Senegal and Nigeria. They were all escorted to the Floriana Police Headquarters. The process of repatriation/deportation has officially been initiated.
This comes as Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri highlighted a series of inspections carried out against irregular immigration. Out of 208 irregular immigrants detained, 184 have already been deported as of the writing of this article.
