Pixar has just released the first teaser for the sequel to Inside Out, and they’re introducing a brand new emotion: Anxiety!
The 2015 film was critically acclaimed by movie critics and fans of the animation studio, with many praising the film for its highly accurate depiction of human emotion and how they progress as one grows up.
Following the life of 11-year-old Riley and the five main emotions in her brain – Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger and Fear – it looks as though the host will be going through some bigger life changes.
After her subconscious is violently wrecked by a surprise demolition day, a bright orange character joins the co-captains inside Riley: anxiety.
The character seems to be changing a lot within Riley and the other emotions will have to learn to live alongside this new complicated emotion. But posters, and a quip by Anxiety, reveals that there will be more joining
The film already promises to investigate the complexities of mental health, giving it an anthropomorphic spin to teach and make us all cry in classic Pixar fashion.
