Following a parliamentary intervention from the Opposition, Finance Minister Clyde Caruana highlighted the importance of credibility and being transparent, especially in his field.

He went on to state that few Ministries in the past admitted that changes need to take place to move forward, going on to reveal that he does not plan to introduce any new taxes.

The Minister reiterated his belief in transparency and respect as values which allow the government to work side by side with the people. He went on to call for responsibility and respect towards the people who are instilling their trust in the government and after a hard day’s work find time to spend with their families.

Sources from within the health authorities have revealed that 90% of the Malta’s new COVID-19 cases are unvaccinated and foreign arrivals, with most cases registered being English-language students.

The students reportedly arrived in Malta upon presentation of a PCR test.

Today, 55 new COVID-19 cases were registered with 6 recoveries. Until yesterday 696,858 vaccine doses were administered with 367,086 being 1st doses and 344,666 individuals being fully vaccinated.

Operations continue following bomb threat in Valletta Courts building

Operations have continued at the Courts of Justice building in Valletta following a mass evacuation due to a potential bomb scare earlier today.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal response vehicle arrived outside the Courts of Justice building with the area being closed with police tape. Police officials and the force’s bomb squad entered the building to ensure that there was no danger.

All proceedings were paused after the police received a phone call at around 9.45am, with everyone returning to the building after an assurance that there was no threat.

55 COVID-19 cases registered overnight with 6 recoveries

Malta has registered 55 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 2,668 swab tests, while 6 patients have recovered. No deaths were registered in the past 24 hours. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

Till Yesterday, 696,858 vaccine doses were administered of which 367,086 were 1st doses. 344,666 people are currently fully vaccinated.

To date, Malta has registered 30,755 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 30,176 have recovered, 420 died and 159 are still active.
