Images and informations sent to this newsroom show homeless persons sleeping outside at Stazzjon Garden in Birkirkara.

The person contacting this newsroom said that this is becoming a norm and nothing is being done about it, despite Malta’s reputation for being able to provide shelter for those needing shelter.

It is unclear whether this situation is being addressed directly following calls for action being made by the residents of the area.

What do you make of this?

As for best fan awards, Argentina fans took the trophy for their celebrations and support following the World Cup 2022 in Qatar as the team won the prestigious title.

The best fair play award was bagged by Luka Lochoshvili. A collision left an opponent (Austria Vienna’s Georg Teigl) unconscious on the ground, and Lochoshvili reacted quickly to save the player, who had swallowed his own tongue.

Last but not least, a special recognition was given to Pele’s legacy, who passed away late last year. ‘Pele is eternal. He is with us and will always be with us’ said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Payet was nominated for a wonderful half-volley strike from distance for Marseille, putting him in the same run-up as, Richarlison, who was nominated after making headlines with his 2022 World Cup overhead kick.

Oleksy’s win opens up the door for a much more inclusive football match, with the Puskas Award having been established in 2009 to celebrate the most beautiful goal of the year.
