After students from Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School (GCHSS) were set to protest on Friday by not attending classes, a letter issued by the Head of School confirmed that the school will in fact be shifting to online classes until the end of the 2nd term (Tuesday 30th March 2021). The students promptly cancelled the protest as GCHSS now joins the ranks of schools like Junior College in resorting to online lessons.
This decision came after students even took to social media to express their concerns that GCHSS was not making the necessary shift to online lessons due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The previous measures issued by the school were banning sports activities and enforcing mask wearing at all times.
