Hibernians were crowned the 2024/25 Meridianbet FA Trophy champions after a dramatic 2–1 win over Birkirkara in a tense and entertaining final.
The match got off to a fiery start, with Hibernians taking the lead in the 14th minute. Despite the setback, Birkirkara fought back strongly in the second half. Maxuell Samurai brought them level in the 71st minute with a well-taken goal that reignited hopes of a comeback.
But Hibernians had the final say. In the 80th minute, Kurt Shaw found the net to put his side back in front, a goal that would prove decisive.
