Health and Active Ageing Minister Jo Etienne Abela, alongside Social and Affordable Housing Minister Roderick Galdes, inaugurated a Telemedicine Clinic at the Silvio Parnis Building in Siġġiewi.

The service offers virtual consultations with family medicine specialists or medical graduates specializing in the field. Initially established in March 2020 during the pandemic, the telemedicine service within Primary Care now facilitates 250 to 350 daily virtual consultations.

Minister Abela emphasized the importance of this milestone in healthcare, highlighting that Primary Care serves as the backbone of Malta’s health system. He noted the many advantages telemedicine offers patients, citing over 400,000 users since January who accessed the 24/7 service for assistance and referrals. In cases of need, doctors were dispatched to homes.

Abela also mentioned ongoing discussions to further introduce community-based healthcare concepts, mental health services, and affordable senior living. “These projects align with our vision for a healthcare system that is efficient, patient-focused, and maintains safety and quality at its core,” he concluded.

Minister Galdes explained that the Silvio Parnis Building, a social housing project in Siġġiewi, includes two clinics. The first, the Professor Albert Fenech Clinic, was inaugurated months ago. This second clinic, with a €1 million investment, will offer 24/7 telemedicine services, making a significant difference for many families.

Pantone has announced Mocha Mousse (17-1230), a rich milk chocolate-inspired hue, as its 2025 Colour of the Year.

Combining warmth, versatility, and multi-sensory appeal, the shade embodies comfort, sophistication, and indulgence, making it ideal for fashion, beauty, and home decor.

According to Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute, Mocha Mousse evokes taste, scent, and visual harmony, drawing inspiration from chocolate, coffee, and natural elements like cacao powder and dried flowers.

Beyond its earthy roots, the shade symbolises elegance and luxury, with designers embracing it in organza, tulle, and leather.

Fashion figures such as Cate Blanchett and Kamala Harris have helped elevate brown tones in recent months, making the colour aspirational rather than grounded.

Mocha Mousse’s launch will be celebrated with public displays in cities like New York and London, including lighting the London Eye in its signature hue.

Eiseman highlights the shade’s harmony and versatility, blending seamlessly with bold colours like hot pink and complementing Pantone’s 2024 Colour of the Year, Peach Fuzz. Mocha Mousse also reflects a cultural craving for indulgence and comfort after a challenging year.

Collaborations with brands like Motorola and Joybird showcase its appeal across industries, promising long-lasting popularity and broad creative application.
