Captain America & Iron Man’s fight scene in Civil War almost didn’t happen

Of all the scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one of the most iconic scenes is the face-off between Captain America and Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War.

However, recent shocking reports have revealed that the battle between Cap and Tony was almost scrapped. A book titled The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe shed light on the disagreement between the Marvel Creative Committee and Kevin Feige and the Russo Brothers on the ending of Civil War.

If it were for the committee, the film would have ended with a departure from the comics by having the Avengers fight Baron Zemo and a team of Hydra super soldiers.

The Civil co-writer Stephen McFeely revealed that he, together with Joe Russo, advocated the comic-accurate Civil War scene as opposed to a super soldier battle in a submarine. Disney chief creative officer Alan Horn made the decisive call to side with Feige and the Russo Brothers which led to one of the most iconic scenes of new-era Marvel Studios.

James Corden set to become UK’s highest-paid TV personality

After signing what is reported to be a ‘multi-million-pound’ contract, television personality, comedian and host of The Late Late Show James Corden will become the United Kingdom’s highest-paid television presenter.

With this contract, the 43-year-old will overtake the likes of the legendary Ant & Dec after signing the two-year deal worth £15 million.

Despite his CBS deal for the Late Late Show set to expire next year after six years of presenting, the US TV giant has its heart set on keeping Corden after garnering millions of views through segments such as Carpool Karaoke, Spill Your Guts and much more. CBS has told The Sun that James is their ‘guy’ and there is no plan B.

Christmas cheer returns to Valletta in December with Fairyland Malta

After the summer temperatures begin to drop and Winter starts approaching, Maltese families begin looking forward to the Christmas season, not only for the seasonal food and overplayed Christmas anthems, but for the magical atmosphere which blankets Malta and Gozo during December.

At the forefront of such Christmas cheer is Fairyland Malta, a transformation of Valletta’s Triton Square into a holiday paradise featuring a number of attractions including a 32m-high Ferris wheel which can be seen from kilometres away.

Other attractions include the Elf’s Train Ride, the Virtual Polar Saber and the yearly opportunity to meet Santa Claus himself, with adults also being able to enjoy some mulled one and festive goodies from the various stalls around the square. Fairyland Malta kicks off on December 3 and will run until January 2.
