The upcoming National Strategy on Volunteering 2025–2030 builds on the foundations laid by the first national strategy published in 2020. As Malta’s voluntary sector continues to evolve within a diverse and changing society, this new strategy aims to respond to emerging challenges through more effective use of human, physical, and financial resources. Central to its vision are increased participation, collaboration, and engagement across all levels of the community.
Volunteering continues to be a powerful avenue for meaningful social connection, active citizenship, and inclusion. The new strategy recognises the transformative impact of voluntary action—not only on individuals and organisations, but on society as a whole.
Public consultation meetings have already taken place in both Malta and Gozo, with valuable contributions from voluntary organisations and their members. However, feedback is still being accepted, and all stakeholders—including volunteers, organisations, corporate partners, and public entities—are encouraged to participate.
The consultation seeks input on the draft’s strategic aims, additional areas for consideration, and how proposed goals can be translated into practical action.
📅 Deadline for feedback: Friday 25th April 2025
