Rescued Sea Turtle 'Eva' Shines Light on Alarming Ocean Waste Situation
Jul 2 2023 Share

A rescued sea turtle named ‘Eva’ has prompted calls for further awareness on waste disposal after the creature was found with a hook & significant amounts of expelled marine debris.

In a post published by ‘Nature Trust – FEE Malta’, the environmental NGO appealed to beachgoers and boat users to dispose of their waste properly and leave no trace, otherwise jeopardising the wellbeing and habitats of marine life at large.

Nature Trust’s post also exhibited the sizeable portion of marine debris expelled by the turtle, with a pen alongside them for scale.

The environmental organisation urged anyone who spots any injured or endangered wild animals, except birds, to call the Wildlife Rescue Team on 99999505.

The post also went on to state that anyone who wishes to donate can send a bank or Revolut transfer. Followers may also adopt, with the €30 fund going to medicine and food for wildlife in rehab.

Jul 2 2023 Share

A San Anton School teacher received quite a unique birthday greeting after a group of students created a Maltese-spoken educational video to wish her a happy birthday.

San Anton’s Ms. Christiana, who can only be assumed to be a Maltese teacher, received a surprise video featuring her students on the day of her birthday.

The witty and wholesome video featured the 30-year-old teacher’s students explaining the nuances of the Maltese language and the difference between ‘snin’ (year) and ‘snien’ (teeth) in the form of a poem.

A caption posted on the Facebook video read, “After the many TikToks Ms Christiana makes to educate us, it’s her turn to smile with a video made by her own students, with help from colleagues Ms. Roberta and Ms. Selene, Happy Birthday Ms. Christiana!”
