According to airline easyJet, traditional passports will become a thing of the past in the next 50 years as they are replaced by, get this, heartbeats.
The future travel predictions were published in easyJet’s 2070: The Future Travel Report.
In it, the airline predicted that fingerprint scanning technology could be developed to unimaginable heights, with travellers only requiring their heartbeat signatures and biometric details to get through security.
The airline even predicts that packing clothes into your luggage might be a thing of the past as, given 3D printing, travellers could simply choose from a selection of 3D printed, recyclable clothes at hotels.
This might also apply for food as hotel buffet food could all be 3D printed to fit an individual’s taste. But that is not all the airline is predicting…
Through the use of ‘haptic suits’, travellers could journey back into the past through immersive technology to re-experience historical sights as they would have been back in the day.
Apart from all these are smart rooms which adjust themselves to a guest’s requirements and biomimetic sensory plane seats which adapts to a passenger’s body shape.
What do you think of these futuristic travel prospects?
