Taking to social media, Facebook weather page It-Temp Madwarna shared a video of an insect many of us hear on Maltese evenings, filling the silence with an iconic chirp.
The crickets, scientific name, Gryllus bimaculatus, come in two different types in Malta, with one found in urban areas and larger ones found in rural areas.
‘A symbol of fortune and natural balance’, It-Temp Madwarna explained. ‘An important insect for the food web and super valuable for our soil and its ecosystems.’
