Carnival floats this year have not failed to impress us, some of them even have a COVID-19 twist!

Kings with masks, and floats with vaccine themes have been seen on the streets of Gozo. Kudos to the artists who are making the floats current too!

Statistics show that Malta is performing best at vaccinating people against COVID-19

Prime Minister Robert Abela said during this morning’s political event, that Malta is statistically performing best at vaccinating people against COVID-19.

The Prime Minister also noted that March and May have been identified as realistic timelines for Malta commencement of economic recovery.

It will be a long road back to normality but we’ll be starting on the road soon.

UK lockdown to end on March 8, picnics and coffee in the park will be allowed again

The UK has been in lockdown since the end of December, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that he is optimistic about announcing a set of rules aimed at the easing of restrictions.

Apart from the discussion of the re-opening of school, people will also be allowed to sit on a park bench with a coffee or enjoy a picnic with someone either in their home or one person from another household.

Further mixing between more than one person of another household will not be permitted until later dates.

138 COVID-19 cases registered overnight with 109 recoveries

Malta has registered 138 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 2,831 swab tests, while 109 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

As of Saturday 13th February 2021, 50,175 vaccine doses were administered.

To date, Malta has registered 19,789 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 17,126 have recovered, 293 died and 2,370 are still active.
