Former Disney sensation Mitchel Musso, renowned for his portrayal of Oliver Oken in the famed Hannah Montana series alongside Miley Cyrus, has been apprehended.

The 32-year-old actor faced charges of public intoxication and petty theft after an incident in Rockwall, a Texan suburb near Dallas.

Responding to reports of a commotion, Rockwall police found Musso at a hotel where he allegedly took a bag of chips without payment and grew verbally aggressive when confronted by an employee.

The authorities noted his intoxicated behavior and detained him, leading to charges for the misdemeanors of public intoxication and theft of items valued under $100.

A records check revealed Musso’s outstanding traffic warrants, including failure to respond to traffic infractions, driving without a license display, and operating with expired registration. The actor was incarcerated at the Rockwall County Detention Center, posting a $2,080 bond for his release the following day.

These offenses, categorized as Class C Misdemeanors in Texas, entail fines of up to $500 each. Combining these with the bond expenses, Musso could face over $3,000 in penalties. This event isn’t Musso’s first brush with the law; in 2011, he was arrested for DUI in California and later received 36 months of informal probation.

After a 12 hour marathon on Sunday 27th August organised by Hopexchange, over €190,783 were raised to help build and expand a Maltese hospital in Ghana.

The marathon was held after a group of Maltese youth visited Ghana to visit the hospital built by the Ghana Mission Foundation, which ensures that many mothers in the country are able to safely give birth to their children, amongst many other medical interventions and assistance.

Led by MaltaDaily’s Keane Cutajar alongside Megan May Caruana and their group of personalities who travelled to the West African country – Amy Borg, Kevin Paul Calleja, Daniel Umanah and Victor Abela – the monetary target set for the marathon was surpassed by the end of the day.

The Maltese once again contributed to the philanthropic effort to help those in need, with children and many other adult Ghanaians benefitting from this wonderful initiative.
