Ħamrun Spartans forward Raphael Lopes has been awarded the LifeStar MVP for January after an outstanding month.

The Brazilian striker delivered a standout performance, including a hat-trick in the team’s dominant 6-1 victory over Marsaxlokk.

He was named MVP in that match and again in Ħamrun’s 2-1 win against Hibernians.

In total, 32 votes were cast, with Lopes receiving seven, three more than Żabbar Saints defender Strahinja Jovancic, who finished second with four.

Born on May 18, 1999, the 25-year-old centre-forward joined Ħamrun Spartans last summer from Brazilian side Ipatinga.

He made his debut in a UEFA Champions League qualifier against Lincoln on July 9, 2024, and has since made 20 appearances in the Maltese Premier League, scoring eight goals.

Before moving to Malta, Lopes played for several clubs in Brazil, including AA Portuguesa, Villa Nova, and Caldense, and had a brief stint in Portugal with SC São João Ver in 2020.
