Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday announced that from Thursday until the start of December;
Non-essential shops, leisure, and entertainment venues will be closed. Pubs, bars and restaurants must close except for takeaway and delivery services.
People may leave their home for work, for exercise, with their household or on their own with one person from another household, to shop for food and essentials, for medical care and to provide care for others.
Single adult households can still form exclusive support bubbles with one other household, and children will still be able to move between homes if their parents are separated.
Childcare, early years settings, schools, colleges and universities will all remain open.
Johnson stated that it is his sincere hope and belief that by taking tough action now, they can allow families across the country to be together during Christmas time.

Malta has registered 140 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,414 swab tests, while 131 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.
Today’s cases are still being investigated. From yesterday’s cases; 7 cases were family members of previously known cases, 18 cases were contact of positive work colleagues, 5 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases, 3 cases were imported and 3 cases were from social gatherings with other positive cases.
To date, Malta has registered 6,182 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 4,286 have recovered, 64 died and 1,832 are still active.

The strong relations developed in recent months between Malta and Libya has prevented 5,000 migrants from departing from Libya with the chance of ending up in Malta, Minister Evarist Bartolo announced.
Minister for Foreign Affairs also stressed the importance for these migrants to be kept in decent conditions in Libya, and that repatriation should be ensued for those that are not entitled for political asylum.
